Anytime your body is tense, so is your energy. When your jaw is locked, shoulders are raised, and your breath is shallow, it’s a reflection of what’s going on within. Use your body as a mechanism to loosening yourself up. You took on this habit as a defense mechanism to your past, but it’s no longer useful. Counter these effects by taking a few deep breaths, smiling, relaxing your muscles, and recognizing what thoughts you may be thinking in that moment in order to counteract them. This is your new life. You’re no longer under attack, and even if you were, a composed you is a stronger you. It’s okay to relax, surrender, and release.
